They admitted at the fans forum that they’ve tried for him a couple of times. He’s a fantastic, young player and I’d like to think that one day we may see him here but I doubt it’ll be for a number of years yet. Our only hope would be that he became homesick but after so many years it’s tough to see that. Depends on his family situation I suppose.

He's been in Australia for a long time, hasn't he? So I doubt that he's homesick. Maybe he;s just trying to spark up a bit of interest in Oz, or maybe the appeal of winning silverware with a top side like Wigan or Saints rather than playing for basement teams in the NRL?

Since he was about 15 IIRC. No way he’s coming here unless it was a case of family moving home and he wanted to follow suit.

After the way we stood by him during his mothers illness and death I would imagine he would be keen to show us some gratitude by giving us 1 more season before heading back yam

It may be we don’t want to retain him.

It may sound like a no brainier but if for example we have a plan to recruit a quota player to strengthen another area of the team, and can bring in someone like Tom Johnstone who would probably be on less than Bevan then we may go down that path.

The fact we are at capacity on quota spots has created an issue and I believe French in the only one who is off contract.

Personally I’d like us to look to negotiate releases for Isa (2 year deal was a poor decision) and Miski but as it stands both those lads are under contract.

I agree. Miski for me is a proper headscratcher, it also looks like Isa could be getting left behind as well.

I don't think it will happen, but he could be a very expensive winger for Wigan, Hull could probably promise his the full back position and move Connor to 6.

Could allow Wigan a quota place and a big chunk of cap to strengthen in other areas.

Just out of interest - how are moves for players like Bevan French even being considered given the financial difficulties Adam Pearson have reported?

Extending Isa's contract at all was a bit daft for me although I could understand if the club felt we were lacking a bit in leadership. Im not sure why Miski has been written off by a few fans - he looks like he has potential to me and played well in his last couple of first team games (lacking in a yard of pace admittedly). Leuluai will likely free up a quota spot if he leaves.

Matthew Shaw tweeted that even so early in to silly season, he thinks the French to Hull rumours might not get beat.

He’ll go home I’d imagine.
