Completely agree.

I'd only take him if he was on buttons and we would effectively be treating him as back up, and he'll certainly have better offers on the table than that.

I do get it but, like I said, if the deal was favourable to Wigan I'd take him. I'd much prefer that to Johnstone who spends most weeks injured.

I agree about Johnstone. He's a talent for sure, but there's only one reason he's still at Wakey: 2 or 3 amazing tries a season and the rest on the treatment bench is not a good enough return for the telephone number it would no doubt take to sign him.

I think his injury record will mean he won’t be able to command the type of wage some expect.

I personally hope he stays at Trinity however if we were to leave and French were to leave Wigan then if he were to move I’d hope it would be to Wigan.

He is far more than just a finisher he has a very good carry off the line too and is very good at defending kicks.

The main issue with his game and it is a long-standing one is his positioning in defence where too often he get caught in no mans land when defending the overland rather than committing.

Is his injury tendency a terminal issue, do you think? By that I mean is it likely to be a thing all his career?

I seem to remember that Johnny Lomax had a similar reputation at one time, but not so much now.

Daft question, maybe. How could anyone know? But I remember a long-retired trainer at Wigan telling me that some players miss many more games through injury than others because they are less willing to perform with a little bit of pain.
