He is far more than just a finisher he has a very good carry off the line too and is very good at defending kicks.
The main issue with his game and it is a long-standing one is his positioning in defence where too often he get caught in no mans land when defending the overland rather than committing.
Is his injury tendency a terminal issue, do you think? By that I mean is it likely to be a thing all his career?
I seem to remember that Johnny Lomax had a similar reputation at one time, but not so much now.
Daft question, maybe. How could anyone know? But I remember a long-retired trainer at Wigan telling me that some players miss many more games through injury than others because they are less willing to perform with a little bit of pain.
