Macdonald is a must target for me. I’ve watched a few Leigh games this season and he’s going to be in superleague next season. The guy looks like he’d comfortably be one of the best centres in the league and would add a real X factor to us. Him and Thornley as a centre lair would be fine by me. Two big, athletic bodies who will get us off our line and cause problems at the other. I’m the case of Macdonald, he looks capable of troubling teams from anywhere.

Agree on Macdonald - let's see if Thornley can string some games together though first.

Do you think another prop should be on our shopping list?

Can’t help but feel we still need an enforcer up front.

Absolutely one should be IMO. You look at Friday and one prop, however good he may be, won’t close the gap on its own (because you need the whole squad to find a way of playing to that intensity they managed for 30 mins but over 80 mins) but it’ll help. I like the way the prop rotation is going in the main but it’s still short of a lead man, a man that will get out there against Saints and say ‘let’s have it’ and will take it to them and drag the rest with him. I thought the starting props had a crack on Friday but we simply shared the spoils in that spell and then got worn down.

We’re a starting enforcer of a prop and a couple of strike backs short for me as a minimum. The halfback/hooker spots may need work as well in the next off season or two.

Singleton Mago Ellis Byrne and Havard are a good 5 IMO.

No way we will sign one unless one leaves.

Sure I’d love to improve on Singleton with someone better but when you look round the league bar Saints, Catalan and maybe even Hull, everyone needs props.

We'd have an even better pack if we replaced Smithies and Partington with James Tamou & Martin Taupau

No we wouldn't
Because we'd have to offload the rest of the pack to be able to afford them
