Yeah that's the one. Think it's almost guaranteed he'll be at the Bulldogs in 23. He's not coming home (permanently anyway) any time soon. I'm sure I saw he's recently got Australian citizenship too.

Still needs to be playing tho & even more so if he wants an England spot. What better place (other than the NRL) to do that than right under the nose of Wane. Show him how much he's improved as a player etc and maybe show some leadership qualities too perhaps?

It all makes sense to me and is certainly something the club must be just keeping half an eye on. If it doesn’t settle down there’s no reason not to test the water. I always want us to plan and stay focused on the next few years and not just the present but if you can get a quality loan signing then why not?!

Apparently Tom Burgess is looking for another club in 2023 - his agent is based in England.

I can’t see us going back to offering huge money to a Burgess twin but if we do I presume the medical will be a thorough one.

I can see him a target for the Dolphins, especially with the Bennett connection.

Looks like George might be looking for another club soon too. I'd take him on a much reduced wage.

Not read the exact details of what George Burgess is alleged to have done but they’d presumably need that to play out first and see the outcome.

I’ve not seen any of comeback minutes yet. Does he actually look like a pro rugby player again? (I mean that with all due respect. It wasn’t his fault the horrendous shape he was in here).

I know he's only played one regular season game, but it wasn't a spectacular performance. By all accounts however, he's building back up and coming off his 1st proper pre season in a long while. Signs seem promising, but early days performance wise.

"Games as big as a grand finals define individuals and clubs. Remember we are only renting these shirts, I had my time in Pat Richards shirt. Ellery and Faz had there time in Sean's, Hampo and Radders in Sam's. You have to make a mark in these shirts that's still there the day you hand it over to someone else. So be aware for 80 minutes you are not only playing but also writing history and creating a legacy. How many people get to actually write history, not many. A big stage demands big players, be inspired. You play for Wigan, now go do it. Good luck." - Martin Offiah, 2010.

Looking at our current squad, I think we’re short in 3 key areas.

1. A hooker to rotate with Powell (ideally a quick ball running type)
2. A top centre (not sure Bibby / Zak / Thornley are the answers if we want to be winning trophies)
3. Another top quality prop (who plays decent spells)

This isn’t taking into account any players who might leave at the end of the season, just my view based on where we’re short at the moment if we want to challenge Catalans & Saints

Agree on 1 and 2 for sure.

Flogging Powell for 80 minutes every week isn’t going to improve his performances, and if he got an injury cover isn’t great in our squad would be O’Neill and Cust covering 9.

Centres deffo lacking skill IMO, letting Hardaker leave and getting an out and out centre would solve this.

Kind of disagree with the props. A top quality prop who plays decent spells defines Havard imo.

Havard, Ellis, Mago, Singleton, Byrne is a good first choice 5 imo. Sure I’d like a big upgrade on Singleton but many clubs are after props.

I think most super league teams would swap their props for ours (Saints and Catalan excluded) but don’t think we’re as far off as we have been (with Bullock, Clubb and Clark). Guess we’ll find out on GF.

I'd agree there. In fact I'd argue we need a fourth in that we need a goal kicker with an accurate boot, whilst Hardaker seems improved so far this year there is talk of him leaving next year so we need to start again. A goalkicking centre with the accuracy of someone like Sneyd would be worth his weight in gold.
