How do Catalans do it another great player centre.

As expected, Tyrone May will spend 2022 in the south of France.

The former Penrith Panthers player will join new recruits Mitchell Pearce and Dylan Napa at the Catalans Dragons after signing a one-year deal.

Who knows from a salary cap POV but that doesn’t worry me, I like to seeing teams spending.

It’s old ground we’ve covered already on here but I think that’s potentially 13 non French players in their 17 now.

A good Catalans side is good for the game ‘if’ it’s producing good quality French players IMO.

I’d imagine it’s the combination of money & lifestyle.

Add in the increased profile of Catalans too as they challenge for silverware and you can see how appealing it is.

No doubt that May will be glad to escape the spotlight of the Australian media too give his reputation.

Really looking forward to seeing how Catalans shape up next year, on paper they look very strong.

On paper, for me anyway, they’re favourites for both trophies. Their squad is far better than the rest and if they travel as well as they did in 2021 I can’t see them being anywhere other than top.
