Assuming the price is right, on a 1 year deal with an option of an extra year in the clubs favour. Alright he isn't going to have season tickets flying off the shelves, but it's the type of signing where you never know how it could turn out. The lad is in need of a career reboot and is still young enough to make it work. The contract length gives us time to persue our options. whether thats a top halfback signing in 1-2 years time, or maybe even stick with hampshire if he takes his chance and impresses. Plus the lad is a very versatile player, can play in the halves, fullback or on the wing if needed,
we could certainly do worse.

To me it makes sense. Hampshire provides cover at half back and full back, which is important at the moment as 1) We don't know if French will come back and when he would be fully fit and, 2) If Field is not the answer at 6, he could slot in there too. I hope we've at least been making enquiries.
I would have said it's not a Wigan standard signing in the past, but we have to be realistic. Our attack was worth 11pts per game last year. I look around at the business that Cas, Leeds and Hull KR have done over the past 2/3 seasons and there are plenty of players who have improved them who would have been deemed 'not Wigan standard'. The likes of Takairangi, Abdull, Evalds and Leeming are players just off the top of my head that would have moved us in the right direction.
