Didn't he score 5 that day though? I think we knew that day we had something special on our hands. I'd watched him in the u21's beforehand and it was freakish watching him toy with opposition teams but you never know how they'll transfer that ability.

He did indeed, and bizarrely never got picked again that season.

perhaps the deal with clubb was " you can have sarginson only as long as you take clubb as well" didn't think we were light in the forwards and he is now too slow and immobile to play centre

If this idea is to play him at prop then I'll be even more shocked! Cas have just landed Andy Lynch who I'd put in any squad above Clubb! If we need cover at prop, that's who I'd have chosen!

Not a chance. Lynch has gone on too long, he has been an embarrassment this season. There is no improvement to be had from him. Clubb will be cheaper and could very well be a good acquisition. The year he scored the 4 tries for England he was highly thought of. I think if we get him fit he could become a good signing

Clubb I suppose is a bit like Flower was when we signed him in terms of his current level of ability and the fact that you can play him front or back row (not even worth mentioning him as a centre). If Clubb can show that same level of improvement that Flower has then we won't be able to knock the signing but I just can't see it. He's older then Flower was and unlike Flower his attitude must be questioned.

We've got 95% of our signings spot on these past few years though so I suppose we should wait and see.

I have absolutely no problem with him going to the NRL to better himself both Professionally and financially and wish him the very best of luck. I expect him to do 2 years there then head for Rugby Union.

If he broke the terms of his contract he will be rightly criticised by some but I will say again I don't think he instigated this and I hope we find out how it came about so he can be accorded the accolades he deserves. By all accounts he is a top bloke off the field as well as on it and I would prefer it if he came out as blameless in all this.

As to sentiments about us being lucky to have had him for two years IL will love fans like you who give him such an easy ride when he sells top players. You make it sound as if we should be grateful we are allowed to support the club.

Sam won't return to us any time soon no matter what agreement is put in place. I predict that the initial deal will be 2 years with option to extend and he'll go down a storm in the NRL and activate that extension. I can see him doing 3/4 years then going to rugby union for a World Cup. That would take him into his 30s and then he may return but who knows?
