| If French moves on and if Field goes to 6, I'd take Coote on a 2 year deal.
Old head at the back with two young HB's in the side. Excellent goal kicker too.

| Saints would like to keep Coote but there’s talk of home sickness. There’s no chance he’ll be here.
I just hope they can convince French to stay here. His injury could actually help as I doubt NRL clubs will be knocking his door down, certainly not on the sort of money you’d think he’s on here. It would be nice if they could get him tied to 3 or 4 years and if his injury is a season job then let him head home until next season. That seems a fair trade to get some longer term commitment.

I know we've posted about this a couple of times, but I can't see French getting a starting spot at FB in the NRL. There was talk of him going back to Para, but as a backup to Gutherson.
The reason French left, was to play. Obviously situations back home change and he might need to go back, but from a pure rugby POV his best option is to stay here. He's playing, getting recognition and presumably getting paid well for it too.

| I agree. The NRL is full of terrific full-backs at the moment. With all the upheaval we've had lately, it would be great if French would commit to a longer term.

| Dufty is a class above French IMO. He's getting loads of stick in NRL but only because the standard at FB is crazy like mentioned.
If French is off, we have to beat Saints to Dufty's signature.

| Quote NickyKiss="NickyKiss"That’s because he doesn’t post 20 rumours a day on here
Going back on topic, the London winger has now apparently signed. He’ll be written off but I don’t mind signings like that. He looks a handful with the ball in his highlights online but we’ll see how the rest of his game shapes up.'"
Probably a project player. I’m not against him signing, nor writing him off before he’s even given his training top size, I want him to succeed here. Just cautious about his signing as I am Mason (if that one is to be believed).

| Watched Thornley yesterday, he caused us some problems going forward, but was awful defensively against a young kid who is a fullback and never played centre before.
I didn't notice Mason, but hard in a game that was so dominant.

Evidence that my point of then not being of the appropriate standard is correct, though I’ll admit it isn’t conclusive and a bad game I haven’t watched isn’t completely indicative of their ability
