I think we all know what the situation is with French. If an NRL deal comes in he goes. If not he stays in SL. I would be surprised to see him go to Hull but if they offer him far more money and/or a guaranteed fullback spot then he could be tempted.

I find it bizarre he’s not got an NRL deal.

Corey Thompson, some may remember him from playing at Widnes, has played nearly 100 games since returning from Widnes and is now 32.

Handy player but hes not Bevan French.

Even more so when you think there’s an extra team now who are looking for 25 players to fill their squad. I suppose the issue may be that he will have offers but NRL teams might think they can pinch him on a low contract due to his desire to go back and start again over there but if he’s then being offered 2 or 3 times the salary by clubs here, it’s going to be a tough decision. He’s far far more suited to this league and will always be a big fish here, so there are a few things to consider for him I’d imagine.

If it were a "level playing field" cap-wise, then he'd be a shoe in for a very long stint at Wigan but the NRL teams can afford to pay 2x what we can on a 'project signing' which will always be tough for us over here

Another beltin piece of business by the club.
These 2 lads are still "babies". Hopefully they both can stay clear of major injuries and have a long and successful career with the majority if not all of it at Wigan.

I recall as a 10 year old my old Auntie would always try and plant a big smacker on me before leaving their house and it became a running joke me trying to make a quick exit before she got chance. I’d imagine French/KPP feel similar to a 10 year old me and who can blame them if they need an exit strategy!
