Agree, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Smith sign a contract extension before the start of the 2021 season.

His agent was not at all impressed at Tommy going around again on his full 80 minutes radio show last week.

The 'what if' scenario is probably one of the most frustrating things with GB. Whilst I agree that he should have had the surgery 12 months ago, i hope it's a positive development that they think surgery can help.

What if GB has the surgery & finds fitness and form? He'll be 28/29 and it's probably worth the risk to gamble on it imo.

Maybe wise to try to arrange a loan deal for Smith to another SL club. He has the same players in front of him who kept him out of the 17 last season, plus Field now as well.

The vast majority of the squad looks great but we won't win a final with the front row as it is now.

I think that’s a fair point.

I’d like another prop and hope we can get one but our front row is a year older with only 1 who that should have a detrimental effect on from this season in Clubb.

Most other teams have more than 1 prop at the wrong end of their careers.

I think a quality Prop though separates us as clear favourites next year. At the moment I’d have us in a group of favourites.

I think we can because the back row will be so good but I’d rather get one more prop in and then as Jonh says we’d be favourites for my money, rather than being one of 2 or 3 sides who’ll be tough to split for the bookies.

Going back to the second rowers/loose forward, it should be top quality and a rank above any other teams in superleague. It should be what gives us the edge in a lot of games, with Faz the best in the league for my money, Isa an absolute ball of energy and then you’re adding in one of the worlds best in Bateman. If those three stay fit they’ll give us a real shout. Another player who could make a big difference to that final team is Ethan Havard. It’s a big ask of a young prop to make a difference like that but this lad is top class. He was making 100+ metres in games pre injury and that would’ve been invaluable in that run in and in the final.
