Higham went unmentioned by those clowns when he played for Wigan. Stevo set his stall out the other night by calling Riddell 'a big lump', or something similar. I've already said that Riddell has been disappointing so far and needs to get fit quickly, but, given that Riddell is carrying an injury at present and had a fairly distinguished career in Australia before coming here, that comment from Stevo was nothing more than common abuse.

They make me puke, those two barstewards on Sky. They've prattled on about us bringing in shedloads of Aussies, never given us any credit - that I've heard - for all the youngsters we've now re-signed on better contracts (if the rumours are to be believed, at the expense of a marquee signing for this year). For some reason they've really got it in for us, and the next time they show their smug, overfed, overboozed faces at the JJB, we Wigan fans should give them the welcome they deserve.

I always liked Mick Higham, but he ought to read between the lines here. Being adored because your someone else's enemy - or because that's the way you're perceived - is hardly anything to write home about.

Must say i was never a fan of Higham. Hes ok if brought off the bench for short spells to run at tired defences like he did at Saints but as a starting hooker he is poor. All that means nothing though if the man whos replaced him is even worse.

I have no faith Riddell will come good as hes so badly unfit and out of shape.He has stated time and time again he has no intentions of changing his habits. Sean Long summed him up when he said he looks like hes just walked out of a pub. He really does need to stop mouthing off about how he loves burgers and get some work done in the gym. A player can be quite big (Cunningham/Newton)whilst being fit at the same time,Riddell is just big and unfit. It looks to me like playing with all that weight has taken its toll on his body,no wonder he came over here early in his career. The guy jogs around like a 50 year old!

As for why we let Higham go well if you believe rumours then Noble wanted somebody else (Buderus or Diskin maybe?),Riddell was second choice. Seeing as there wasnt loads of hookers waiting to be snapped up being second choice doesnt mean much.

DON'T LISTEN TO STEVO!

I've found it hilarious that everytime Higham is involved with anything from a simple pass to a try he mentions him with so much positivity and loves mentioning that 'Wigan were wrong to let him go'. It's amusing, it really is.

However, Stevo didn't mention Micky's mistakes, penalties and pea rollers that contributed to Wire's loss on Saturday...Unfortunately for us, those were the performances he generally had for Wigan.
