Rogues do you reckon we should stick some 'b' teams into a diluted league 1? What I mean is the super league sides can play 'B' teams in a league comp but can't be promoted or relegated. Split league 1 up into 2 separate mini leagues based on location and the winners of each league go up to the championship. So the super leagues 'B' 'Reserve' 'u23' whatever you wanna call it get some good experience playing against some good seasoned campaigners and the club's we play against also improve for the better competition.

I've been calling for that for a while. Put the better League 1 teams in a league with the SL reserves. Put the worse League 1 teams in the NCL.

Looking at potential back lines, there's only French and Field who'd you'd expect to be leaving, or be linked with moves away. That's a healthy situation imo and, with the versatility of some players, we can still dip into the market if needed.

We just need to help them out with a prop signing (or two).

Field is contracted with us for next year. He won't leave after this season.

Thornley - I'm not a fan of this one if true. If he is signed as a first choice player then I think we could sign someone better than him. If he is backup then I wouldn't want a 30 year old blocking the development of Halsall, Hanley etc

Not sure if there's crossed wires here, but that's exactly my point.

Come this time next season, we should be in a pretty stable and healthy spot. If Field is ripping or up & if Bevan is still here there might be some chatter about them moving on, but that's better than this season with French, Gildart and Hastings (three of our best players) all up in the air.
