The worry will always be though that when the games tighten up and get played through the middle, as they usually are in big semi finals and finals, do we have enough on that score? I don’t think we do.
I think that we can confidently say that this side don't have the props to win that kind of game. Two CC defeats and a loss in the GF kinda proves it.
Bateman is our only real addition to last year and he's a great addition. He's not however, going to swing the balance in our favour on his own.

Nope. We lose most big games especially in wet weather.

How many metres did the Leigh pack make? What about the contributions from the backs and 2nd row?
Ioane - 17 carries, 115 metres, 3 busts, 1 offload
Mason - 13 carries, 93 metres, 3 busts, 0 offloads
Bell - 13 carries, 89 metres, 2 busts, 3 offloads
McCarthy - 9 carries, 57 metres, 1 bust, 1 offload
Peteru - 5 carries, 43 metres, 0 busts, 1 offload
i.e. a hell of a lot more than ours.
Don't even get me start on Joe Shorrocks. He played nearly half an hour, made 23 tackles and carried the ball ONCE for 7 metres.
How can you excuse that kind of laziness just because the backs and back rowers compensate for it?

With stats like that you'd think they won 30-16 and won the last 60 minutes 30-6

The Leigh carries are way in advance of ours through the middle, so the ground made will be higher. The stats look like they wanted a game in the middle and we wanted to play on the edges. I thought Shorrocks 20 minute spell highlighted that, as he was just used as an extra pivot to move the ball around. The lad certainly isn’t lazy through his own choice. He made about a tackle a minute on average.

I'm sure he linked up for one of our tries? He's obviously not there to carry the ball up and is linking the side together more.

Those stats probably tell a big story on how we play as I don’t think any of their props would make our side yet on paper certainly in go forward they’ve performed much better.
On the Bullock to Wire rumour, I’m far from gutted but I do think there is a good player in their it’s just not come out like I had hoped. He made a promising start to his Wigan career but he’s just not kicked on, he’s also a massive human who you feel should dominate more.

Powell went off on 73rd minute so not long I don't think, why? Does that stop him running with the ball?
