I remember Liam Botham too - I think he played full back for the Rossall U15 XV when I refereed a game in the early 90's. Very talented but rather mouthy and I seem to recall penalising him for back chat when he disputed a decision! Presume I also penalised a gobby Saint Simon too - someone kept shouting " forward" whenever the opposition passed the ball!!
Mike Park is the rugby coach - very nice guy although he has apparently been seen wearing a Warrington shirt!
I think the lad in question is Ollie Murray ( according to my daughter who has just started at Rossall too). There was a photo of a 13/14year old Rossall pupil pictured with Brian Noble in 2009 wearing a Wigan shirt - not sure as to how and why. May well be the same lad - he stayed down a year and is currently in Y11 although he should be in the Sixth Form.
