Most idiotic post ever goes to Grimmy..... The way to restart should be an arm wrestle between a designated player from each side.

Both of them cost us really. The 2 penalties were easily avoidable (especially if Theo doesn’t go down like he has been shot) but if Zak kicks one of his two goals we win the game.

Personally I attribute the loss to poor decision making with the option to take 2, then not chasing the kick and allowing Lomax to run 30 yards.

Sick of agreeing with you

I agree with you. The only time I can remember that happening in a team sport is at Manchester United. Our young forwards need plenty of game time but they also need quality players with experience around them.

Did goal kicking cost us or giving away penalties to allow them to score before half-time?

Neither, its the collective of what happened in the 80 minutes.

They seem pretty convinced it’ll happen. I’d be absolutely gutted tbh. Wane coaching Wire to victories over us feels so wrong.

Whilst we get perennial failure Lam.

The lack of grunt up front is my only concern with the squad.

If we could bring in 1 or possibly 2 27/28 year old workman props then I’d have us big favourites for the season.

As it is I think we are probably in my opinion close 2nd favourites behind Saints again.

Exactly.

I’d say the main issue in that final had nothing to do in reality with any individual moments.

Our lack of meters for me was the biggest contributing factor to the result.

And yet they never looked like scoring and we blew 3 chances to win it

Easy to say 'it was the full 80' which of course so is every other game, but if we go 6-2 up we win. If we're smarter at the end we win.

Re: Rumours and signings v9 : Sun Mar 07, 2021 8:00 pm
Better team won on the night. They needed an unbelievable sequence of events to get them over the line but we just didn’t do quite enough. Fully agree with those who put a lack of go forward through the middle as the reason we were outplayed. Saints line speed in defence over the previous two seasons had been the best I’d seen in years and in that league game at their place last year we raised the bar even further and fair play to them for them lifting that even higher in the final. They smothered us and we struggled to get up the field. Our defence was amazing but we needed to do a lot more scrambling, whereas they controlled us better. If we’d have had a big forward in the middle who could scatter some defenders then I think we’d have got them.
