I personally feel signing a starting prop is priority (if we have the cap space), if we are looking at signing a squad or project player Id rather that be spent on a winger as we have less depth. Someone like the Fijian army lad Naulogo that was at Hull, I know it’s not as simple as picking up someone from the army or an islander who hasn’t made it in the NRL and expect them to succeed but for the right price it’s worth a go.

I can't help but think there's loads of talent sitting around the NRL feeder comps.

You only need to look at the success of the loan deals from last season to see there's talent that's ready to play and contribute. Hetherington, Alvaro, Faamausili all props & all did alright.

Is Peni Terepo still out of contract? He would do, together with that has been Cam Smith!

IIRC if it is Jack Heatherington from the Panthers he was at the NZ Warriors.He has signed for the Bulldogs for 2021 I believe.

It is but its got to be the right player.

We have had our fingers badly burned with Burgess and it is another example of waiting to see how a player actually performs without relying too much on what he did in the past.

We also need to make sure we only bring somebody in who can fit into the Wigan culture.

We are usually pretty good at doing our homework on players which is why the signing of Burgess is so perplexing.

When was the last time we signed a first class prop who then gave us:

Big metres per drive. 10-15m+
Long minutes in a game 40mins+
High tackle count with low error rate.
