If we're looking for a backup winger, squad player then Ben Jones Bishop could fill that role on a one year deal. Oh for Dan Sarginson, ideal in this situation.

I said that last season, i believe he’s still to find a club, just wondering if he’s pricing himself out of a move based on previous success at Leeds and him once being highly regarded?

I get what you’re saying.

I honestly think Field was signed as a French replacement only for French to stay,

No concerns for Smith I don’t think. He’s not the finished article yet, defence being his main issue at the minute. Another year dropping into the team when need then 2022 I expect him to have a starting shirt (ala Williams when Green left) when Tommy no doubt retires and perhaps Hastings and or French returns to the NRL

I was gutted Huddersfield brought in an Aussie half, as I'd have loved Smith to have gone there for a season, playing next to Sezer under Watson.

According to a well known member of the squad who told me at the time, Jason Robinson was moved to the wing by Coach John Monie because as a scrum half, he could not remember the names and numbers of his set moves, but he needed to utalise his speed in the team.

It turned out to be a shewed move by Monie in view of what took place afterwards.

We also had Shaun Edwards, Andy Gregory & Frano Botica in the team when Robinson broke through.
