But the problem is they are not fit. The bigger question for me is, can they still perform at the level necessary for a club like Wigan? I would like to think they could but I sadly have my doubts about Manfredi and we are unsure how well Marshall will recover.

Bob on. But the only way we sign a ‘top drawer’ prop is Burgess departing. Even if Clubb goes I don’t think the cash or cap space is there for a quality prop

In my opinion we have 6 players who can cover the wing, and I stress cover via different combinations.

We have 2 frontline wingers, both with question marks over their fitness however both probably deserve a chance to come back and prove themselves. Manfredi in reality is probably on his last chance being brutal.

For our props we are probably looking at 1 experienced battle hardened prop, a project who looks to be coming good and a combination of 2 youngsters with Clubb providing backup along with more youth.

A lack of grunt and experience in the pack particularly Prop probably cost us a semi final win and the title.

That is why we need to prioritise a Prop.

The elephant in the room is obviously George Burgess. If he gets fit we are sorted, if he remains in the current state and doesn’t retire we need to recruit, and if he does retire, we need to recruit.

I hope GB can recover and contribute and if he does I think we are clear favourites next year, if however he doesn’t and we don’t add an experienced prop then I’d put Saints as favourites again.

I am on about a top class winger better than both Manfredi and Marshall, not a back up.

If you think we are ok, so be it!

p.s. From what I understand Manfredi was a centre with Leigh Miners from whom he was signed and never a winger.

So what? He is a winger, no questions about it and on his day is fantastic. He didn't look the same for most of last season and there are now doubts as to whether he will regain his form and can stay injury free.

27 years old, played as a winger in Wigan's first team since his debut in 2013. According to Wikipedia he left Leigh Miners when he was 14. 13 years ago.

We are supposed to have quality props in Bullock, Burgess, Byrne, Clarke, Havard, Partington, Singleton, Kilner etc according to many of the comments on the website.

I have excused Clubb who appears to be the reason in their opinion of why we need another prop in addition to the other eight in the squad.
