My knowledge of sporting insurance is zero so I'l have to assume that the club isn't covered for his current injury otherwise he would have been retired already?

One major problem is that the lad can't get treatment due to the situation with coronavirus!!!!

Surely not, I've had treatment through the NHS for a broken bone and subsequent recovery during this time. Have another friend/colleague been treated privately for a lower limb injury too. Neither of us are reliant on the game for our main income.

I am getting a bit tired of defending George Burgess now to be honest. You have to blame the club for lack of knowledge on him but if George Burgess knew that he wasn't medically able to compete then he has willingly conned the club out of money. My disdain for him grows by the day.

If i was a conspiracy theorist i would say that George knew full well he wasn't able to compete and the South Sydney Rabbithos knew full well that if any club learned the full extent of his injury then nobody would take him off their hands.

Nothing whatso ever to do with Furlough or anything to do with the present Covid-19 situation as it has been the same in normal seasons.

Covid-19 is beginning to be a excuse for a lot of things which are not happening now in everyday life of the country.

I hate to thing what the situation would be like if we did not live in a age of computer technology with people working from home and no online shopping etc, etc.

Sorry guys I wasn't talking about the NHS, I was referring to treatment at the club e.g. physiotherapy. Part of the problem, following the restart, was that none of the players received treatment between games. Now, I am sure that we will all agree that the best course of action is to solve this problem without going under the knife. Eventually, that may be his only option but we will have to see.

So I could get physio during that time but he wasn't able to? I'd be surprised

Before signing he had a medical in Australia and passed it. The medical was undertaken by the doctor who Wigan have employed previously. Now, either the doctor has not done his job, which I don't believe, or this injury has surfaced since that medical.

This is what I find very strange.

He was offered around the NRL clubs prior to him joining us and not wanted to touch him with a barge pole because of the nature of his injury.

I even think there were some quotes from Madge in the press referencing the injury and it’s chronic nature and that being the reason he couldn’t get a deal in Australia.

Next thing he passes a medical for us.

Something doesn’t sit right.
