Davies is one of the inform wingers in the comp, he knows the club and area - I actually can't think of a reason why we wouldn't sign him.

I don’t know if Marshall vexed in your cornflakes or something, but he was absolutely fantastic this year especially. Form winger in the competition for most of the season up until his injury.

I’m not saying Burgess hasn’t been good, but definitely not superior to Marshall.

He's still not good enough in defence for me. It's all great being flashy, but I want to see him execute the basics in defence first.

Different argument, but same ballpark with Sam T - all this "half the player" stuff is laughable. There's more to the game than scoring the occasional wonder try imo. I'd honestly rather have Burgess, or Bibby. Bibby especially is a massively underrated player imo and just does everything well.

Well it won't be Hall as someone previously suggested, he has signed for HKR. Davies is a good shout, I thought he was great against Leeds and after such a bad injury he seems to have recovered his pace.

Well he is far better than golden balls at St Helens.

I don’t see any ways in which Marshall has been defensively inferior to any of our other wingers in the last year, or even people like Tom Johnstone if I’m honest. His height he can’t change, but he’s been very good under the high ball for the last 12 months or so. And his tackling has been really good, just look at the try saving tackle he made after damaging his knee in his last appearance for us.

He may have been weaker in defence previously when he was smaller/younger, but IMO its now completely overstated based on performances from 2-3 years ago. His carries from defence have also been really good and much improved.

We are all entitled to our own opinions of course, but for me Marshall has been the best winger at the club for this season and most of last season too, and I’m not just basing that on scoring wonder tries (although at times last year he was basically our only attacking threat).
