Couldn't understand why Hopkins wasn't brought to the club this season.
We signed him months ago.
Our pack could have done with his size with us being without Hock all year.
Hopkins looked like a player with plenty size, good hadling ability and good footwork. Wears the 8 shirt but is playing 13 for Leigh.
I do think he should have come in this year though!

To be fair Bowen is a big game player, who in effect will be replacing a big game player, Sam hasn't played that much this season so Bowen could do the same rota. The only worry is - will he be able to run the length of the pitch like Sam does? Also, look at the wire they haven't done to bad with an ageing fullback have they?

Anyone who watches the NRL and North Queensland Cowboys regularly will have no reason to doubt or question Matty Bowen. He's still very much a class act, still has bags of pace and can read the game as well as any other fb.

And there in lies the problem with this forum. There's a lot of posters on here who just read that he's 30+ and has had knee problems. They've never seen him or any other NRL games regularly but they've made their mind up. Just like they did when we released Stu Fielden. They seemingly new better than our medical staff.

If anyone watches the NRL and the Cowgirls they will also see that they have someone called Jonathan Thurston in their line up. That has a significant bearing on how good Bowen looks every week. Maybe 3 or 4 years ago I would have been more than happy with him, but not now.

And thats because he plays behind a good pack, I think JT is the best payer on the planet but when he falls short in a match Bowen is always there with the extra options

He didnt do to badly this week I think it was against the Gold Coast Titans, lovely 20 yard cut out pass for the winger to run in for a try and then a perfectly weighted grubbed that a try was scored from.
