You will find out in a few days but its definately happening, either out on loan or duel contract, where they train with wigan all week and if not required they go play for their duel contract team at weekend.

This might be the case in coming seasons for Farrell, Tuscon, etc.

Agree with the sentiment but it would make a lot more sense & more feasible to promote Thornley I would have thought.

Why? Because his Dad is Andy Farrell?

Maybe he was a good junior but he'd have to prove himself in our reserves before earning a full time contract, let alone a first team appearance.

He hasn't even played Rugby League at an academy level and has played just one game of first team Rugby Union from off the bench.

I also though why are we talking about replacing Carmont with anybody at the moment? He's had a couple of top years at Wigan and if he has another I expect to see him here again next year. I know he's not getting any younger but we shouldn't worry about bringing anybody in imo. We need to show the lads already here that theres an opportunity for them and a way of progressing to the first team.

In Thornley and Marsh, I'm told we have two youngsters who the club are really excited about. Both are a little on the young side at present, but if you consider the other two as well - it would probably be a mistake to sign a new centre long-term. If George can get through this season unscathed, it might even be politick to give him another year - as experienced support while the youngsters bed in.

The ideal scenario would be that Carmont has another good year and we keep him on for 2011. We could then during 2011 pull Carmont out of the odd game here and there to give him a rest and let the others have a sort of audition for the position. That way we'd have a fresh Carmont, some fired up replacements playing now and again and hopefully a solution for 2012.

If things could work out like that it would be ideal but maybe i'm asking too much.
