He wouldn't. Everyone can see he has passion and is incredibly intelligent. We can all see what he has done to Salford on no budget and how long it's taken him to build it. Here he would have a better facilities, more money, everything really. He is going to get the chance at one of the top 4 clubs, just remains to be seen which one that will be.

The same could be said about Maurice Bamford who was another outstanding Coach with Halifax, but when he came to Wigan was not as successful and was sacked within a very short time.

Being at a bigger club is not always better!

That's true, but today Watson may win the Challenge Cup, something Bamford never did as head coach.

Will that alone qualify him to coach Wigan? I'm not saying it will, but we've got to ask ourselves who else can we realistically get who is better? There is certainly no one else coaching in the UK who I'd want, and the NRL top men appear to be out of reach. A high-quality NRL assistant may be ready to step up, a la Madge, but that possibility aside, it doesn't surprise me that most fans are focussed on Watson.

I do love those that say he’s not good enough,Watson has improved Salford year on year since the million pound game a few years back,if and it’s a big if he decided he’d like a move I’d hope he would consider Wigan if they moved for him.

I’d sooner have Watson than some untried from the NRL

His squad is littered with misfits, has beens and never will be’s. To do what he’s done and take that team on his budget to a Grand Final and a Challenge Cup Final is nothing short of remarkable.
