It’s what any good coach should be able to do IMO. We spend as big on wages as anybody (and more than most), we have a great youth academy and the general standard of teams in the league is pretty poor. If come the end of this season Lam hasn’t made a final, let alone win one, then I don’t see how he starts 2021 with us ‘if’ Lenagan sticks to that.

you said he didnt renew his contract at the time and he didnt hire him so felt no loyalty maybe, but he did renew his contract during his time so did hire him in effect for the new contract

IL didn't hire Noble, Lindsay did. IL would therefore not have felt any pressure to prove that decision correct as he might with Lam, is what I meant. I've noticed it in other workplaces, the person who hired you tends to be most invested in your success.

he renewed his contract so rehired him.....

I see Hastings has had another veiled dig at the fans or some of them, all a bit tongue in cheek but adds fuel to the fire. I personally think he’s gone pretty well this year and I have no question of his commitment on the field.

I'm not sure if anyone else heard in the commentary that Tommy is going around again,whoever said it says that it came from Tommy himself

That was the bit I heard. I got a confused as Bill Arthur mentioned Leuluai and then Ben Currie and followed it with ‘I wonder if he’ll be a Wigan player next year?’. I initially thought he was throwing a rumour about Currie out but I think it was Tommy he was referring to.

I’d be happy for him to play on as a back up hooker/emergency halfback but if it’s as a starting seven, with him having that same level of responsibility as he gets currently, it’s an absolute no. He’s still a good player Tommy but you can’t keep asking him to do jobs he’s no good at.

Whatever you say about Tommy, Ii think any team would miss his defence. When opposing teams make a break, how often is it TL with the try-saving tackle? That doesn't happen by chance.
