I can tell you that H WILL be at Wigan next season, no doubt. If you want to believe differently, fair enough but you will be wrong. What happens after that, we'll have to wait and see, but he's due a testimonial in 2015 so I wouldn't be surprised to see him sign a two or three year deal.

I would expect any businessman worth his salt to be looking to the future, and making the best of the prevailing conditions. I would also hope that IL IS signing players on long contracts so that if they leave Wigan get something for it. But, if we are to really believe that the players themselves are not building get out clauses into contracts, we would be naive, players will ensure they can get out in some way.

I honestly believe that IL and Sam knew when he would be leaving, irrespective of whatever the club, or the player, said at the time of the signing of said contract.....

Quite probably... Or given a version of the truth, depends how you want to view it. But just because i think thats what has happened, it does not make it the truth. Just opinion.

So looking at the confirmed / Almost certain ins and outs we have:

Out: Richards In Sarginson

Out Mossop, In Powell & Pettybourne
Out Tuson in Hopkins

And then there is Sam.

Sarginson will have to fight for a place v Burgess, Hampshire, Powell, Williams plus those who haven't made their debut yet like Manfredi.
Just don't see the point of his signing, if true!
Powell is an out and out prop, Hopkins wears the 8 shirt at Leigh but also plays at 13, Pettybourne seems to be a back rowers from what can learn.
We have plenty props but it is an attritional position with many injuries through the season. I like the signing of Powell as he brings much needed size and no doubt aggression to the front row. Hopkins is a big man too who maybe can play front and back row plus 13, a great advantage for a coach.
Sam is irreplaceable, it will be intersting to see who is given the 1 shirt next year.
Perhaps between Hampshire, Tierney & Sarginson.
As we haven't had the size of Prescott and Hock this year then I'm happy with the signings of Powell and Hopkins. Both big men with aggression and skill.

Brett Delaney has followed Ryan Bailey in signing a new long term deal at Leeds. There's no sign of guys like Watkins or Hall leaving anytime soon either regardless of them being linked with the NRL.


Leeds and Hatherington can do it, why can't Wigan and Lenagan?

Nothing wrong with the pack for next season for me.

The backs are another matter. Only 2 & 3 am I completely happy with.

#4 has been a weak link in our side this year - neither Thornley or Gelling have been consistent enough.

No replacements yet for Tomkins or Richards - replacing with kids who aren't yet ready would be a disaster.

Jury still out on #6 and #7?
