Interesting point. Although I was at the Latics Huddersfield game on Sunday and kept an eye on the Latics fans after making the comment I did about the Brigantes heading off to support them.
There was probably about 100 of them who stood as close as they could to the Huddersfield fans and spent the entire game not watching the football but making aggressive chants at the Huddersfield fans. On the other side of the coin what I presume was the Huddersfield bad lads got as close as possible from the other side of the stewards line and did exactly the same. They all just wasted their entrance money. To be fair there was no trouble but without the stewards and police in the middle there would have been.
This is exactly what we don't get in RL and don't want. It seems to be what the Brigantes are heading towards.
I note that no-one has come on to defend what happened. Is this because the Brigantes took themselves off to their own little members only forum ?
I watched the Latics game on the tele on sunday and yeah when Wigan scored the first goal, the camera went to the fans celebrating and the 100 or so you mentioned were giving it the 'big'uns' to the Huddersfield lot.
I watch football myself, as i'm from Cumbria I follow Carlisle and at every match there is the same problem which is why football is so heavily policed nowadays, it's something that has been in football since the 70's and will take a miracle for it to disappear.
The Brigantes seem to be copying behaviour like that, especially what i've seen of them, when they came to Warrington last year I was walking out of the ground after the game and about 12 of them in jackets, jeans and a scarf worn like a balaclava walked past acting all intimidating and shoulder barging every Warrington fan that walked past, including myself.
Hopefully after saturday's incident they have realized how childish and embarrassing they are and they stop what they are doing.
