it's one of the major reasons I think Wire will be a force for a few years. Instead of them going for over hyped Aussies they seem to have changed their focus 2 good British players like Carvell, Myler & Atkins who will IMO provide a really good service for them.

It's for the reasons above I really hope we are looking at Brough for next season.

It's nice ideal to hope for a champion team made up of all Wiganer's but ultimately I think it would be self defeating because I think it would be a one off if it ever happened at all. It may make the club look unwelcoming to outsiders and that would not be a good thing IMO.

Daveo, It's not offen I agree with you but on the last paragraph I agree entirely.

I (although not being a Wigan lad) like the idea of a core of Wiganers in the team, however if the whole team was wiganers it could come across a bit like a 'if your not one of us you don't really fit' or 'we only need Wiganers' and that could be seen to both potential external players and fans as unwelcoming and even arrogant.

Having said that, the head coach is an ozzie.

the lads that started on sunday against leigh are all going out on loan or duel contract. Madge started having meetings with them yesterday

Seems a lot of lads to go out. The reserve team will be decimated.

Thats what I was going to say Pemps.

I'd rather see the likes of Farrell and Davies get blooded straight into our first team as opposed to going out on loan to be honest.

That is my view as well. If you look back into the history of our club you will find one of its traditions has been trying to employ the best players wherever they come from. How about Lance Todd for starters?

So long as we stick within the quota and do not try and get round it I hope we never stop looking overseas as well as locally (and throughout the UK as well). We may have not done very well in terms of overseas recruitment recently but hopefully that will change.

True enough but he will like most coaches have to work within the chairman's guidelines and I hope (and think) IL hasn't decided only Wigan'ers are good enough to for the club.

I can't see ALL those players going out on loan, but I think we'll see three or four or them doing so.

I'd like too see Davies, Ainscough and Farrell go on loan to a super league club, I think they could do a good job at somewhere like Salford/Crusaders. Vievers, Charnley, Marsh and possibly some others would benefit from a few games at top CH1 clubs, im sure clubs like Leigh, Widnes, Whitehaven and Barrow would snatch our hands off if we offered them.

I said i'd rather keep the likes of Ainscough and Davies here then send them out on dual contracts which I would but moves on loan to superleague clubs with a 24 hour recall clause would be very good for us.

I don't want to dis-credit you, but do you have any 'insider' information?

I can't see it happening mate, perhaps a few aka Ben Davies, Stu Howarth, Iain Thornley, Liam Farrell but I can't see them all going. That would amount to IMO, a pointless exercise.
