I agree, it will probably be a petty, we sell to Bradford , who then sell to Wigan on same day scenario

I've high hopes for Gaskell this year.

I've always had high hopes for Wheeler, unfortunatley now they consist of just hoping he can play more than 12 games a season. When he does, he's a star.
It would be a real killer for me if Saints were to release him, only for his injuries to clear up.

Much rather we tried to sign Lomax than anyone else but Wheeler and/or Gaskell would be great.

Wigan's relationship with Saints is much better than in those days. Whether this would stretch to selling / buying players I doubt it (unless a player was off contract). Just like we don't see many players moving to and from other main rival clubs like Wire or Leeds.

Give me a choice of Gaskell or Lomax and I think I'd be one of the few that would take Gaskell. He's got a proper halfbacks range of skills with a good kicking game, decent hands and a proper rugby brain. He's a lad I hold high hopes for in terms of England finally producing a 'proper' halfback that can guide us around the field.

As for Lomax he's a class act, a cracking individual talent but he'd be that at fullback, centre, hooker or halfback and he isn't the type of player who will get his side around the place.

Luckily for Saints they've got the pair of them and they form a very well balanced pairing.
