When I was growing up, everybody used to say that we shouldn't go on the tips (the hills and woods near Goose Green and Highfield), because Purple Aki will get you and scribe a P and an A on your cheeks. I didn't believe he actually existed until about 5 years or so ago when I saw a story about him in the papers.

When I was growing up in goose green we didn't go on the tips at night because of 'red cloggs'. Apparently a mine shaft colapsed years ago and trapped a load of fellas down there. I've heard of Red Cloggs! I went to St.Paul's primary school, and there was this ritual you had to do to keep him away, but I can't remember what it was. I think you had to click your heals a certain amount of times whilst saying something about Red Cloggs! |
