I posted it because people here thought that Heth was making a stand against selling, which was/is plainly rubbish.. As you rightly point out.

Until he lets one of his stars go then seriously some are on here grasping at straws. He is letting 2 virtually unknown go compared to us who are letting Hock, Mossop, Sam (more than likely) as well as Joel who went. Hetherington has shown he can keep his star players which we seem unable to. Over the lat 3 years who have the lost from the British players in their squad to the NRL or union.

Wether IL is correct or he is time will tell. But to say it is rubbish he is taking a stand when no one mention Ryan Hall or any of his stars to the NRL says something about the club. Most successful in the last decade and retains his British talent when he wants to.

It's not "Straw clutching", its commenting upon. I'm not defending IL, and getting a little tired of being accused of being some sort of moral crusader in IL's defense!! i'm commenting on the FACT that players are being sold.

Baldwinson is not been sold was out of contract according to sporting life. Unsure about Tonks but no mention of a transfer fee for either. So there is a difference in a OOC leaving and actually selling players for a fee. If Leeds were to lose either Ryan Hall, Hardaker, Bailey and Jones-Bishop for a fee then yes Hetherington would be hypocritical. But up to now from what i read now i could be wrong but no fee is changing hands and neither were on a contract at Leeds next season. So they were open to the highest bidder. Nothing he could really do about it.

If a fee has changed hands can you link it nothing on BBC or my fav sporting life. thanks

Both were out of contract according to the Leeds board so nothing GH could do. He is being criticised for not tying them down to long term contracts last year.

That was rather stupid of him. But more than likely he could not do it as if they can afford to fight off the NRL for their top players they will not be able to really afford long term contracts on many youths who will want a living wage.

I thought NZ Warriors were in partnership with Wigan? How does signing 2 Leeds players affect this? Do they say all things to all clubs or is this deal different?
