Not if he wanted to stay at Wigan, no. I think Wane would be monumentally stupid to try and attempt to force IL's hand for several reasons and I don't think he's that stupid.

First I don't think IL would respond well to it. Second he isn't in a position to do so given his record so far (IL wants GF's and CC finals not LLS) and third I don't think offers from NZW will make a blind bit of difference to when IL makes him an offer or whether he will.

Maybe Wane wouldn't do this. I don't know him well enough. But Nobby was a regular 'pressure merchant' when he wanted a new deal. So it's not unknown, and I hardly think it's "beyond the pale".

All I said was that this severe collapse in form over the last few weeks won't go down well if rumours continue to circulate that SW is looking for a job in NZ. Perhaps he should say something about it, and end the speculation. Or perhaps his hands are tied. Who knows?

As you say, it's all guesswork.

If that is the case and we go on and finish this season with silverware we've made a huge error. IMO trophies shouldn't come in to anyway, he's done enough to warrant a deal already. To lose so many influential players yet keep us at the top of the pile should already have been enough to warrant an extension.

I know for 100% fact that this is true and his mrs was with tomkins mum looking at property which I posted at the time.

I was over the moon when Wigan appointed Wane because I didnt think he'd make a first grade coach but I'll now be over the moon if he goes because IMO he's done a excellent job and I take it back, he's a very good coach.

And if they will then that is an even bigger problem for SL. I had thought maybe once they had taken the relatively few top class players in SL that would be the end of it until the next Sam turned up but if they are after taking Bailey no one half decent is safe!
