But I really do think I am safe with this one. If I asked other people to do the same if we didn't sign him I don't think they would be quite as keen.

It would be great if it did happen, but, like you, I doubt it - simply because we don't seem to land players of that quality any more.

He's long been rumoured to want to play at Wigan. But if it was a choice of coming here or going to the NRL, I'm sure it'd be a no-brainer for him.

That said, would he get a first team place in the NRL? Tim Sheens was famously - and very publically (for a change - NOT) - disappointed in Ellis, claiming that he didn't know the first thing about modern RL. Do we think Gleeson wants that kind of crap in his life at the age of 29?

When you think about it, this one is perhaps not as unlikely as it at first seems.
