I've no problem with him backing himself, but you see it time and again when players do it. What if he'd dropped the ball (ala Sean Long when he tried to look good sliding over in the mud and knocked on) ?

A try scorer will go for the line, and it will win you more game than it loses. Hodgson would have passed, Wild would have passed, Brown would have passed etc, a real talent took backed himslef and i applaud it.



If we played percentages should Tomkins not have passed the ball on his try?

its a pity the players who have come with big reputations havent so far lived up to them........as for our kicking game ...tonight it was shocking.god help us if they cant score from there

True, but NEXT time he may do.



Therefore on this occasion we let him off due to the occasion, but tell him next time to score the try as close to the posts as possible and then celebrate away.

Oh yeah. Tonight is something he'll never forget.

You are of course technically correct but on this occasion he deserves letting off and I think whoever it was who told him off after scoring his début try wants his head testing. A quiet word after the game would have sufficed.

True next time he may look for the supporting player who is not there, he may throw the pass and see his supporting player drop it, or he may back himself like any true try scorer does and cross the line for 4 point.

"The players done have passion for the shirt" is something I have read many times on here. Ainscough shows some and you all start moaning.



GET A GRIP.. at least next week when he is dropped for Mathers you all wont have to moan about someone celebrating a try scored after beating a man one on one on the outside (wing play weve not seen at Wigan in quite a while).



Well Played Shaun, wore his heart on his sleeve tonight and deserved the MOM award.



Did anyone see him shouting at the team under the south stand sticks after conceding another try?

Shaun Ainscough was the one silver lining last night - he offered the little bit of optimism that we have quality home grown players on the fringes of the team who want to play for the club - if given the chance.



If he isn't in the team next week then I will once again despair of the selection policies of Noble.

If he isn't in the team next week we should barricade the training ground and stop Noble ever getting near the place.
