I agree it was a bad deal, all I know is that we are to get beer and such sales back to the Warriors coffers
I was told this today.
Also told he will have bought the rest of the shares by the end of the year and things all Rugby related will improve as the Tics no longer have any power to dictate.
Loving it at the min.
I did know that 2 weeks ago there were stadium/latics employees still trying to exercise the previous regimes practices on us, and a quiet word was had and it was sorted.
I'm reluctant to say too much, because I personally dont want to get into the back & forth of who owns what, my dad's bigger than your dad
Let's just say things are working on a lot more of an even keel
Latics officials will need to get their heads round this, and their fans, I think a large proportion of the fans are realistic enough to understand that the term that is being used since the takeover I.e. "sustainability" is something that we (Wigan rugby) have been doing since 2007, whilst Latics haven't as they were under the Whelan umbrella until 2018, and then the gigantic mess of Chinese then Bahrani ownership for the last 5 years who didn't realise the cost of Not living Sustainably and subsequently didn't want to.
I still see posts now from Latics fans who think that Dansons purchase "Must be" because he's a billionaire who wants to throw hundreds of millions at them.
My take (albeit I can't prove it although I have had conversations with people involved in the processes of the takeover) is that he stepped in as no-one else did, and he's agreed to run Latics Sustainably which, is far far harder in football than in rugby. Losses of 1m a year in rugby and Wigan still are at the top and most people are happy
Latics income plus 1million a year and its league 2 at best etc. On average (I get they could perform well and improve etc. But realistically the budget for income plus 1million a year would have them fighting mod table league 2 financially wise).
They lost 10million ineague 1 to win it
They'll lose approx 15million staying in the championship
Of Dansons sustainability plan is to give them 10/15million a year to achieve that then fair enough
I think it will be the former, and work within that Sustainable budget plan
