Heaving not rewatched the game and posting for this feeling very hungover in a Travelodge in Walthamstow I thought Smith had a shocker, but he did provide the quality at the end to get us over the line, when the reality was we probably didn’t deserve it on balance of play.

Wasn’t a classic but we found a way to win.

I thought Smithies was our best on the day but probably fair for McQueen to get the Lance Todd, he was outstanding.

Smithies your best ?Should have been sin binned at least once

He was outstanding the Poundland Knowles. Doesn’t really matter if he should’ve been sin binned or not. Rather him not give the penalties away but these things happen.

He wasn’t, we won and he had a great game.

Great day out.

Smithies was Fantastic yesterday and has been very good all season and getting better with each game.
He's OK for being no more than a Poundshop Knowles!

A lot of people i spoke to on the way home and on the phone/WhatsApp picked Smith as their MOM and would probably agree as halves/backs get more chance to do the eye catching things.

But I said to everyone, and 90% said it back/agreed that Smithies did his role better than anyone yesterday.

Got back to the club for a pint about 11.15 and was asked who do you think was MOM, about 2/3 people jumped in and said Smith
I nodded and said yeah BUT and went on to mention Smithies and the lad who asked said "Yeah, that's what we all said".

Just watched it back myself mate. He has masses of crucial involvements. Everyone is focusing on the French/Field try, and understandably so, but it's Smith who makes the pass that opens the opportunity up in the first place. A Great kick for the Marshall near try. The sweeper defending the kick through in the first half that saves a probable try. Just game changing involvement after involvement.

Apart from some defence and his try, McQueen doesn't actually do much. Nowhere near as influential as Smith. Not even close. I don't know where that decision has come from. They must have been watching a different match.

Not smashed at all. Just saying as I saw it.

Happy to watch it back later when I get home.

I thought both teams were very poor on last tackle plays and both teams were rudderless around the halves for long periods of the game. That was down to the 9s too.

When Tommy came on we looked more controlled.

With 10 minutes to go we’re we’re playing like headless chickens flinging the ball about with no direction chasing the game rather than keeping calm and trying to build sets.

That was my take on it.

Fantastic that Smith came up with the big play when he did and your only need a few minutes of brilliance to turn a game which he produced but over the course of the 80 I don’t think he had one of his better games, non of the halves did.

Giants badly missed Fages as their last tackle plays and organisation were shocking and as others have identified probably cost them the game.

Great result for us and in my opinion I felt Smithies was our best on the day.

Not nice to see a player get injured but I think we would have been very happy to see the withdrawal of Chris Hill who had a brilliant first 20 mins.

Mate, you're so, so wrong on Smith. I think you'll be embarrassed when you watch it back.

They make the decision at around 75 minutes - make it at 80 and they probably pick Smith. McQueen was probably as good as anyone for Hudds. Ricky Leutele was a nightmare to deal with - would love him at Wigan.

McQueen was as good as any for them but that's the point. I didn't think anyone stood out for Huddersfield. It was just a solid team effort. If you had to pick a best for Huddersfield it would have been Leutele as he was the one who actually caused problems.

Watched the game back and we're much, much better than what we've been given credit for.

Plenty of mistakes in the game, but we looked far more threatening in attack. Plenty of line breaks and adventurous with the ball. Faz makes a break, Tommy going close on a play, Field putting Smith through and of course the Field break.

Maybe it's just too hard for opposition fans to see, or say that though.
