I'm not sure how easy it would be for the club to sign anyone of note from the other code. Anyone even half decent could still find a pretty huge wage playing Union in France or Japan and anyone who is a bit rubbish would still be better off in rugby union.

PS I saw Billy Slater in HMV in Wigan he accidentally dropped a wigan rl t-shirt in front of me with BS initialled.

He told me to sshh and not tell anyone how he Cronk, Smith and the Thor were all signing this week!

Might have! He's been spotted in Frankie and Bennies on robin park so he MUST have signed for Wigan. And if he hasn't, WHY haven't WE gone for him?

I think Kevin Webster might be a good short-term Gareth Thomas style signing. He's experienced, he's high profile which can only be good for the sport and-if we can persuade him to regrow it-his moustache could be the most effective since Mark Calderwood's in the 2007 play offs.

He's got a proven track record in big matches too, correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure he handed out the medals to the Under 11s at the 1989 Challenge Cup Final...
