Now, if that is not regarded as a frivolous appeal I don’t know how you define it.
A frivolous appeal is something fans don’t seem to understand. Making an appeal and losing doesn’t constitute a frivolous appeal. The appeal system is there to be used. A frivolous appeal is when you launch an appeal process but you don’t contend with guilt or the grading, essentially wasting everybody’s time. I always use the Leeds ones as an example: they launched an appeal and basically said “we don’t deny he’s guilty, and the grading is right, but the ban is harsh based on other bans given out this season”. However, they can’t change the ban length unless you prove the player is either not guilty or has been charged with the wrong grade. If you’re not challenging either of those things then there’s literally nothing that can be done and you’ve just wasted everybody’s time by calling an appeal panel together - hence the added punishment
It’s mad how many people have no clue. The amount of comments on social media asking for a frivolous appeal EVERY time we appeal anything is boring af. Shouldn’t be surprised though really considering so many of the clubs themselves didn’t even understand it, hence why they kept getting whacked by it.
