3 pts deducted, must be the only oil men on the planet who are skint
i think thats as good as the season finished for the Latics now (8-9 points adrift from safety and those 2 clubs have game in hand too). They are fighting, but ultimately dont seem good enough for the division. Some strange decisions made re manager through the course of the season havent helped them i dont think either, but those closer to the Latics would be able to comment on that
From a selfish perspective now, its what happens next? is there a genuine issue with the owners and what impact is that likely to have on 1. Latics future (staying solvent / administration etc etc) and 2. impact on Wigan RL (stadium staff, availability if any issues with administration). I cant remember what the direct impact was last time as think it was off season

We'll have to wait and see, I guess.
Risked checking a few of their Twitter feeds last night. They proved uninformative, though the Tics certainly seem to have made a lot of enemies among other football clubs. And I mean REAL enemies.
I can't imagine there'd be much euphoria on here if Saints, Wire or Leeds went bust. Old foes, yeah, but they'd be a huge loss to the game.

It's a strange football fan thing that I've never understood.
Had arguments with a few friends when Bolton were struggling. They're the first fixture I look for when we're in the same league and they're the first result I look for apart from our own. Why would I want that to go away?
The football fan mentality seems to be wanting your rivals to go bust. It's strange.

From an outsiders perspective, did some of that attitude not change when Bury went bust. It seemed after the way they were mis-managed, that there was a lot of sympathy from football fans near and far. No doubt, there will have been some who were piping up from their positions of safety, but as the Latics have seen it could only be just around the corner, and i think from what i read earlier this week Sheffield United are close / fighting off administration at the minute too
I suppose putting things into perspective too, Bury could have been saved by one of the larger premier league clubs financially as the money involved want massive (a decent player salary), but its not their responsibility to pay off someone for mis-management
i saw the WEP story on her yesterday, and just couldnt resist a response on twitter
She does absolutely nothing in or for the town that i am aware of, other than jump on the chance to get a good media story and get into the limelight, the sooner she is replaced the better as far as i am concerned
