I was reading rumours Mal Brannigan and whoever else running the club can’t even get hold of the owners. I’m sure all sorts of rumours will go around but you’d have hoped Talal could find some time to give an update of some sort. He’s been an embarrassment from day one for me. He clearly loves to be thought of as some sort of hero but when the going’s got tough, he’s been missing in action. **Edit** I read he’s just commented that everything will be ok but there will be challenges to come. He’s at least come out of hiding. I suggest he changes the colour of the seats pronto to get back on side.
Administration this time could well be fatal. We have no players of any note to shift on. Last time we got about 20% of some players true values but the sales of Robinson, Moore, Gelhardt etc helped keep things afloat. This time if we got 20% or so of the players values, you’re talking the biggest sale being maybe to scrape together a few hundred grand for Callum Lang and there isn’t much else. Euxton was a help last time and there isn’t that to fall back on. Its an absolute shambles and it will impact on the rugby club.
Exactly, hence my question as to where does this leave the Warriors? They pay £55k to use the DW, but if that money doesnt go to the stadium staff, groundsmen etc, there'll be no stadium made ready and no pitch prepared.
Perhaps its time for the stadium to be sold to a separate company so that both sporting clubs can pay £55K a game to use it, and it could also be used for events/concerts to raise additional revenue. Football/rugby fixtures alone would raise £2m a year, and at least that money would go towards the wages of the DW staff and any upkeep.
