Like I said in my earlier post, it's a shame such a talent will be lost to RL for at least two years even more so knowing he'll probably struggle in the 'outside' world, without a coach and 12 other team members around him.

If his two years where up right now, and I was in charge, I would test him fitness wise (with the view it is up to him to be fit enough, I'm not going to give him a contract if we have to get him up to fitness) then give him a reserves contract for a year or let him go based on that. If he is a different player after the year and isn't up to it, then its a small wage on a player who we all know has the ability to win us games, if he can return to where he was two years ago.

I think thats how I would deal with it.

The question is though, will the club go to all that trouble if the players in the team in two years time are performing well?
