Not so much the coach but the whole culture at Warrington. When Holbrook walked in to St Helens yes they weren’t doing great at the time but the culture was still there and the proven systems behind that.
There’s none of that at Warrington. It’s spend, spend, spend with little thought to spending that on the academy, on facilities, infrastructure. Holbrook can’t change that. All he can do is coach a team which we all know he can do well but for me if Holbrook takes this job he is quite literally gambling his coaching career on it. Powell’s is in tatters, gone from being rated incredibly high at Cas to probably struggling to get another SL job and no chance of an NRL gig in any capacity. He made some mistakes for sure but none were fatal.
Bring in Holbrook all they want, if they don’t get themselves sorted it’s just another one for the road.
