Great news all round. Wigan and SL keeping a quality player, I also think it's good news for Williams' career as not sure he was ready for the NRL yet.
Formerly of Whelley via The River Caves, but now in the next best thing, Chorley!

'Do you remember when we had that meeting in Orlando? We talked about how we were knocked out the previous year by Leeds. And at the end, I asked you one question. "Do you want to be a semi-final team? Or do you want to do something special?" You all said you wanted to win. But talking is easy – it needed you to believe. It needed you to work hard – harder than you had – and make sacrifices. You did all that. you worked for each other. You stuck together when it was tough. And because of your efforts, you sit here tonight as champions. I'm proud of you. Be proud of yourselves. You've done something special.' Shaun Wane's post-Grand Final speech. 5th October 2013.
Chuffed with this. I posted on here a while ago that I'd been told he was going and I believe that was the case. I then got told a few weeks ago that the club had managed to get a good offer on the table for him and he'd decided Australia wasn't for him.
The lad is only going to get better and he's already a bit good! It's a good boost going in to Friday.
Maybe an obvious thing to say but the club will really be hoping we can achieve as much as we can over the next two or three years. We may not be in a position after that time where we have a number of top internationals in our squad.
Congratulations to Wigan for putting together an outstanding squad in difficult times. Just pray we get a bit of luck with injuries now so we get a chance to see the best of the squad on the field. A fully fit side is a mouthwatering prospect.
Williams has been given the (new) 2nd marquee player slot. I think that means the club have every expectation of keeping him for the duration of his new contract.
Well done to the club for giving that slot to a home grown player.
Great news for fans, correct decision by Williams, another great move by IL and don't forget a big thank you to the other forward thinking clubs out there who can actually see past the end of their noses.
