Exactly why is it the RFL's fault that Edwards is no longer involved in the sport?

Did they impose a ban?

The truth is, he - like a multitude of others with Wigan connections - turned his back on the sport to take up ranks with the enemy.

I, and I suspect many other RL fans, would be absolutely outraged if this once-in-a-generation honour was bestowed on him, no matter how good a player he was.

He shouldn't even be considered.
