Referees are given free rain to choose which aspects of the law they will observe and when. They can ignore 9/10 off-sides, lying ons, high tackles, ball steals, etc, and then penalise the side of their choosing at a time of their choosing to control the flow of the game. The referee should be the administer of the law, not the arbiter of its administration.

Add play of the ball to that list, I always laugh when they randomly penalise it in a game.

What irony that the leeds fans are singing "all we need is a decent referee" when he has got them into this game. Surprised he didnt give leeds the scrum just

if it's got to the point were a few people can see that a player is being targeted and that he should be taken off for his own health then the referee is failing to do the most important part of his job he should be brought to account,got to say that the commentry team are not half showing there anti wigan colours tonight aswell with the exception of noble and clarke

Look dont expect him to act on that warning like he did against us for a tackle that wasnt even late, i thought jjb jumping at sam when he was catching the ball leading with his knees was an obvious one for the simbin
