There’s no chance Field will get a starting gig in the NRL with how weak his carries are.

He’s great for us in so many ways and I wouldn’t trade him for any other SL fullback.

But them carries when he gets isolated are awful. Gets dominated every time.

Baffles me why he doesn’t take ‘The Sam’ approach to kick returns. Just don’t run them in. Give it off to your winger and let him work. Leave the gas in the tank for the other moments in the game.

I thought we missed Miski last night coming away from our line and maybe Field would've laid a few more passes off to him, had he been in the side. Eckersley spent most of the night running sideways when he was bringing it out (he defended really well though).

We’ve got to be looking at Eckersley as a centre or fullback only, and even then I’m not too confident with his catching, which then lends himself more to centre. Keighran is potentially off and he’s a very frustrating player with too many dips in general over the season for me. He’s been warned about poor discipline already so if Eckersley can develop a bit more physically then I could see him slotting in there.

We'll probably find out for the Hull FC game. Likely Keighran will cop a ban so squad selection will be crucial for the right side.
Either way a lot will depend whether Miski plays or not.

If he gets a Grade C - He won't get a ban under the new disciplinary system.

If he gets a Grade D - He will get a 2 match ban.

I know Sam Burgess complained about it a few weeks back, and carrying over from last year, when players had already been punished v an overseas signing coming with a clean slate was a ridiculous system, but i havent seen anything since to say it has changed, but happy to be proven wrong as i cant believe (or i can actually its the RFL) that was the system they were going with
