I know, I have absolutely 0% sympathy for him BUT its a baffling bit of transfer activity if true, and would imo, make Wire favourites for the GF.

There is, of course, this supposed 'ticking time bomb' at Hudds, with the court case hanging over six players.

I don't know the details, and of course we can't speculate, but it's a serious charge and it's not beyond possibility that Hudds may suddenly be denied the services of a number of key players.

That may figure in Hodgson's thinking - if the rumour is true. But then conversely, it makes you wonder why Hudds would agree to such a deal. Won't they want every good man they can get? I can't see how Mathers would satisfy that desire.

Heard its all been dropped (the court case stuff) very little substance to it apparently.

If you're referring to age then it's a simple question. One or two seasons from a top quality full back or seven, eight years from a distinctly average one?
