Im family sure I heard at one point he is injured

Waine gone for a long time too.

I guess in meadow's defence, with our forwards getting stuffed what chance does he have.

Yes that’s fair. Does anyone have a sense where this squad would be if we were still in the Championship? My view - not top, maybe not even close to top.

If Hughes really wanted to make a point regarding IMG ratings he should have recruited a SL standard side so we could win a few games rather than scrapping the academy.

Yup he’s certainly put IMG in their place. Here’s hoping we take a mature approach to our recruitment for next season in the Championship which, as we’ve spent so little energy improving this season’s squad, should be pretty full on and be starting real soon.

it may have been said already, but Hughes is incapable in every single aspect of club ownership/stewardship, apart from paying bills.
the fact that he has wasted some £30 million of his and the same again in funding from other sources over the last 15 years is a testament to his tenacious arrogance in repeating the same errors year on year and expecting a different outcome.
the TV picturw of the 10 (was it that many?) travelling fans is a just reward for his endeavours.
still....hes still got the Gold Lounge to look forward to

Maybe if he'd done that, there'd be some supporters remaining for next season.

Same old twaddle from Cake after the game, although I don't see what else he can say unless he wants to address the real issues which would not be a good career move.

Re: Castleford away next : Sat Apr 27, 2024 12:09 pm
Yup a 40 nil hiding by 2nd worst team in the league leaves him nowhere to go other than the ‘we have a few key players to come back’ road or to tell the truth which I don’t think would help squad morale. On the plus side, other than the northern players, + Kennedy, Miloudi going, our squad for next season is almost there, although obviously we need some quality in the creative positions. I wonder if a few might decide having played at SL that it is time to call it a day. I’m thinking here of Parata in particular who I thought did play well. He works up north in property development and I suspect that it is quite difficult to transfer that model to the South as prices are through the roof. If we lost him we would potentially for second season in a row have a worse squad than the year before.
