Now we seem to have got the knack of converting tries are beginning to pull away from Sheffield. Good to see the team dug in.

Phew! Made heavy weather of that but they are a good side and it was an away fixture so m will be well pleased. Hitting good form at just the right time (except in the sense of growing crowds). If we can build on this we can all forget the load of old pony we put up with last year. Be interested to hear what Knocker thought of the game as I think he went.

A fantastic result away from home. Now we have three home games and it is possible, if things work out, that we could end up third at the end of the season.
Maybe I am tempting fate saying that, but it is possible.

A long old trip and we made it a bit of a pulse raiser at times, but ultimately we were the better team and deserving of the two points. I agree completely with Mike Eccles' post game comments. First half we dominated and should really have been out of sight by half-time. If we do make the playoffs, then we need to show we can be more clinical with chances and there is work still do there I feel. Really impressive defensive effort though, Sheffield barely got into our 30 and when they did we we were able to tidy up nicely.

Second half started very loosely and it was a daft penalty to give away that led to their score and gave them a bit of momentum. We stayed in the arm wrestle though and forced some decent goal line pressure, which led to the final scores that sealed it. I was surprised Sheffield weren't a bit more expansive and if they had been a bit braver and found a pass on last tackle, might well have caused us problems. They seemed largely content to trundle it up the middle, particularly in the first half and there were some pretty harsh words being spoken when they were gathered under the sticks.

I felt a bit nervy when the starting 17 was named. Only two forwards off the bench in scorching heat felt like a bit of a gamble, especially when Lewis had to come off in the second half. Oli being dropped for Henry is also another interesting decision. The League Express match report said Oli was used, but I don't recall him coming on and Henry played the full 80. Sheffield lost Gwaze to a head knock inside the first few minutes and another player in the second half, which put pressure on their forwards to do big minutes and the fatigue clearly showed.

Nice to see a decent little crowd of us Broncos supporters there. Hopefully the club comes out and gives a real publicity push over the next few weeks. Need to be making sure we are taking maximum advantage of our current form.

And I'm hoping that ,just in case we make it to having a home playoff game, the club are making arrangements with Wimbledon to play it at PL. The thought of playing such an important game at Rosslyn Park.........
