This got me thinking, has there ever been a stadium where in its first year of use, both the clubs who play at home there get relegated?
Dons are down
If Broncos lose tomorrow they are as good as down.
Has any other ground been this unlucky in its first year of use?
The Reebok? The massive party at the opening match had to be cancelled due to the death of some trollop when fleeing the paparazzi that she'd been courting for years. Then Bolton had a clear goal disallowed leading to a draw against Everton.
At the end of that season, Bolton (the only incumbents of The Reebok and therefore all of them) were relegated, losing out on goal difference to Everton. This led to a couple of Bolton fans developing the goal line tech that is now accepted worldwide.
Everton, famously, have never been relegated.
Tomorrow, Bongser will not just have an eye on your sparrows but also another South London team.
Up the Broncos & Up the Chelski (down, of course Putin & Everton)
