If London were to get into Super league ( but I doubt) could the one million pound extra not buy a core of ten good players on one year contracts.By past coming and goings, the contracts of rugby league players at all all clubs are not worth the paper they are written on, so could a team not go out and but these players on one years contracts with terms of 70k a season and if you stay up will match that for the nest season.The extra one million would cover this and with David Hughes wallet it is more than feasible to top up the rest of running the club which he does every year anyway.

what would the average wage be of a player in Superleague ?

It looks like Luke Yates contract at Salford is not worth much. It is said, he will join Ian Watson at Huddersfield next season.
